Role Overview

You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering engineering solutions that enhance the energy performance of industrial facilities. You will work closely with our technical team, clients, and project managers to coordinate the design and implementation of energy efficiency projects, ensuring that solutions are tailored, technically robust, and aligned with client needs. This role requires a detail-oriented engineer with strong project coordination skills and a deep understanding of industrial utilities and process technologies (e.g., steam, compressed air, refrigeration, heat recovery).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs, layouts, and schematics for industrial energy efficiency projects.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, consultants, and contractors to refine and validate design concepts.
  • Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create technical drawings and documentation.

Project Support & Implementation

  • Collaborate with project managers to coordinate design activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
  • Support procurement by specifying and selecting energy-efficient equipment and technologies.
  • Ensure design deliverables are aligned with project timelines and client expectations.

Technical Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain design reports, technical specifications, and operational guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy efficiency regulations.
  • Develop as-built documentation and provide support for commissioning and handover.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Technical & Industry Expertise

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Process Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial energy efficiency, utilities, or process technology design.
  • Strong understanding of steam, compressed air, refrigeration, heat recovery, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and engineering design tools.

Project & Coordination Skills

  • Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors.

General Requirements

  • Knowledge of energy efficiency regulations, industry best practices, and sustainability standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full working rights in Ireland and willingness to travel for site visits when required.
