In this role, as a Server and Systems Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and software.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
  • Performing regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect data and systems.
  • Collaborating with IT team members to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
  • Documenting system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to end-users.
  • Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What makes you successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a Server and Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMWare) are desirable.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or a Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.
