
Level 2 Network Engineer

We seek a skilled Level 2 Network Engineer with strong Aruba Networking solutions expertise to join our team, supporting and maintaining LAN, WLAN, and network access control (NAC) infrastructure at a client site in Dublin.
This role involves resolving network issues, collaborating with Level 3 engineers on implementations, and ensuring optimal network performance and security.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, addressing complex network challenges and delivering impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain LAN and WLAN infrastructure, including switches, routers, access points, and NAC.
Perform regular network performance assessments and optimisations.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimise downtime.
On-site Physical Work
Cabling: Inspect, install, and maintain network cabling for connectivity and performance.
Racking and Stacking: Install and organise network equipment in racks with proper cable management.
Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular checks and upkeep of network hardware.
Coordination: Work with client IT and third-party vendors to integrate and maintain systems, such as servers and security appliances.
Network Implementation
Assist in deploying LAN, WLAN, and NAC solutions as per client requirements.
Support Level 3 engineers in configuring and installing network hardware and software.
Ensure configurations align with industry standards and best practices.
Facilitate planned maintenance and change management processes.
Security Management
Implement and maintain network security measures, including NAC solutions.
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
Respond to and mitigate security incidents.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Generate regular performance, incident, and change reports.
Provide root cause analyses for major network issues.
Customer Support
Offer technical support and guidance to the client's IT team.
Conduct training sessions on network usage and best practices.
Collaborate with the client to identify and deliver tailored network solutions.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering.
Proficiency with Aruba Networking hardware and software solutions.
Relevant Aruba Networking certifications (e.g., ACMA, ACCP, ACCX, AWMP, ACMP) are highly desirable.
Experience with network monitoring tools.
Safe Pass and manual handling certifications (preferred).
Working Conditions
Full-time onsite role at the client location.
Standard working hours: 09:00–17:30 (37.5 hours per week).
Primary location: Dublin 8, with occasional visits to additional client sites in Dublin.
May involve occasional after-hours work for maintenance or upgrades.
Requires the ability to lift and move network equipment when necessary.
