€51,723 - €61,864 per annumAnnual Leave:Annual Leave will be 25 working days per annum.This leave is exclusive of public holidays.Hours of Attendance: Working hours will be 35 hours per week (net of rest breaks).Location:This position is based at NCAD, 100 Thomas Street, Dublin 8.NCAD is seeking to appoint an experienced educational technologist who will facilitate the phased implementation of the new VLE, Canvas.The post holder will work under the guidance of the Teaching and Learning Development Officer to provide technical advice, support and training informed by creative-pedagogical and UDL principles, and consult with IT Support on technical issues relating to implementation, including the deployment of other technologies and applications to support delivery.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLiaise with Heads of Departments and staff members within departments to identify Canvas tools and routines that would be most helpful for their particular educational contextsCollaborate with subject matter experts and the Teaching and Learning officer to develop exemplar Canvas courses for specific departmental purposes.Plan, design and deliver Canvas training to staff members, in line with departmental needs,Fold UDL principles into Canvas training,Support staff members to take on new digital capabilitiesOffer Canvas inductions for student groups, and support students to access and navigate the learning management system (LMS.)Help to manage NCAD's Canvas instanceStay abreast of developments in Canvas and consult with relevant parties concerning the introduction of new features and consequent training needsSupport the identification and integration of external apps (LTIs) to enable a functional virtual learning environment (VLE.)In the role of a Canvas 'Admin,' assist staff members with requests and queries related to NCAD's Canvas instance (including creating new courses, importing course content, creating user accounts, adding staff members, enrolling students, logging support tickets and any other tasks that require Admin access.)Selection CriteriaSelection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post.Applications will be assessed on the basis of how well candidates satisfy these criteria.Mandatory:Relevant academic qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) or significant experience in Education and/or eLearning/Education TechnologiesExperience and skills in instructional design and the development of modules/programmes for blended deliveryAbility to collaborate with College staff to problem-solve and develop responsive Blended Learning strategies suited to creative practice-based education.Demonstrable skills in design and development of educational resources supporting the choice and application of appropriate educational technologiesProven experience of using and supporting a learning management system (LMS), NCAD's current LMS is CanvasHave excellent IT skills with strong G-Suite skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and develop an understanding of emerging areas of enhancement to Teaching, Learning and Assessment.An interest in technical platforms, eLearning authoring tools, multimedia applications, web and virtual classroom technologies, mobile apps and social media appropriate to support technology-enhanced learning.Experience of delivery of training to a diverse range of participants, including adult learners.Excellent communication skills: oral, written and presentation, including the ability to explain pedagogic and technical issues clearly to people at all levels of technical and academic knowledgeExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and independently as requiredHave the ability to prioritise and work to deadlinesBe legally eligible to work in the Republic of IrelandInterest in and understanding of creative-practice based education.Experience of working in a third-level environmentExperience managing and leading a serviceSome understanding of and interest in codingNational College of Art & Design is an Equal Opportunity Employer#J-*****-Ljbffr
