Overview*Design Technician – Vision Built MMCLocation: Galway or SligoVision Built, a leader in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and modular offsite building systems, is seeking aDesign Technicianto join our expanding design team.Based inGalway or Sligo*, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, sustainable building solutions using cutting-edge digital technologies.About Vision BuiltAt Vision Built, we deliver precision-engineered modular buildings through offsite manufacturing, reducing build times and increasing quality control.Visit to learn more about our work.Responsibilities*Role OverviewReporting to theDesign Manager*, the Design Technician will support the delivery of high-quality 2D and 3D technical design drawings and BIM coordination for modular construction projects.This role involves coordinating with architectural, engineering, and project management teams to ensure design accuracy, efficiency, and buildability.*Key Responsibilities*Prepare and manage detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, Vertex BD, or SolidWorksProduce accurate shop drawings for factory assembly and offsite manufacturingCoordinate and integrate civil, structural, and architectural elementsMaintain drawing registers and document control in line with internal standardsParticipate in multidisciplinary model coordination using Navisworks or similar toolsInterpret engineering sketches and specifications for modular constructionEngage in technical collaboration with engineers, architects, and contractorsSupport product development and design innovation for new modular systemsMentor junior technicians and contribute to continuous improvement within the teamExperience*Preferred BackgroundWe Are Open To Candidates Coming From*Architectural or engineering consultanciesMain contractorsBIM engineers or coordinators*Bonus Experience*Experience in product development or working with building materialsPrior exposure to offsite manufacturing environments or design-for-manufacture methodologiesQualifications*Qualifications & Skills*Honours degree (Level 8) in Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related fieldProficiency in Revit is essential; familiarity with AutoCAD, Vertex BD, Navisworks, or SolidWorks is desirableUnderstanding of Building Regulations, Technical Guidance Documents (TGDs), and BIM standardsKnowledge of MMC, modular systems, and light gauge steel framing is a plusStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesExcellent team collaboration and communication skillsAdditional Information*Why Join Vision Built?*Work on high-profile, sustainable modular construction projectsGain hands-on experience in an expanding MMC businessJoin a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on innovation and qualityExcellent development opportunities for early-career and experienced professionalsTo apply, please send your CV and portfolio (if available).
