Are you looking to become part of a collaborative team whilst maximising your potential to grow and develop within your career?Apply today.The Role.The GMC Environmental Manager will be reporting into the GMC Group Sustainability Manager and will have overall environmental responsibilities for a project portfolio which includes ensuring environmental & sustainability compliance and environmental best practices are implemented and adhered to across a portfolio of projects.The Environmental Manager will play a central role in minimising environmental impacts, maintaining compliance with Irish legislation, ISO *****, and supporting the delivery of the project from an environmental perspective.Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Key Responsibilities:Provide support in environmental management to the project teams.Conduct environmental assessments, including site investigations, impact assessments etc.Carry out a schedule of environmental audits in accordance with the contract, GMC and the Clients requirements.Prepare, implement and manage environmental management plans such as CEMP, RWMP, EERP and supporting documentation.Manage and deliver monthly Environmental KPI's as per the contract.Develop Waste Classification Reports and ensure waste is managed and disposed of in compliance with legal and permit requirements.Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with CEMP, planning conditions, and regulatory standards.Lead environmental incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.Maintain and update environmental SOPs in line with legal requirements and ISO *****.Provide training and support to colleagues and junior team members on environmental practices.Liaise with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project compliance.Stay updated on environmental regulationsThe Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:Relevant Environmental Engineering / Science degree (or equivalent qualification).Minimum 5-7 years' experience in the environmental sector (civil, utilities, or construction experience highly desirable).Full clean driver's licence essential.Strong technical and analytical skills with proven report writing ability.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong IT proficiency (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint).Become a part of something bigger.At the heart of GMC is our people, from engineers through to customer service and we aim to work collaboratively towards our common goals.GMC is an equal opportunity employer, and we aim to recruit and retain like-minded people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of expertise.In GMC we foster a work culture that promotes collaboration and learning, building an environment where our people have the capacity to maximise their potential whilst gaining the opportunity to continuously develop.Our Future.Since the founding of GMC in **** by Gerry McCloskey, GMC has grown to be Ireland's leading Civils and Utilities company and the future for GMC is bright.We have engaged with our staff and other stakeholders to agree and publish our core values.One of our core values is to"Focus on the Future".Our growth to date reflects the confidence that our customers have in our service delivery, in the innovative approach that we bring to how we do our work, and to our culture of safety and quality.We have ambitious plans to develop our footprint in Ireland and overseas but understand that every decision we make contributes to people's quality of life throughout generations, and we don't take that responsibility lightly as we build Ireland's infrastructure of tomorrow, today.
