Applications are invited for the following position within the PATIENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT in the Rotunda Hospital Ref No: 2025/04 Grade V Paediatric Service Team Leader Permanent, Part-Time Patient Services Department We are currently looking to hire a Grade V Paediatric Service Team Lead to join our Patient Services team here in the Rotunda Hospital.The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of dedicated professionals. Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, you willprovide comprehensive administrative support to the area assigned and as directed. The successful candidate will be required to manage the operational activities of the area of responsibility assigned, to ensure there is an effective and efficient delivery of services.To promote a friendly customer centered service focus in the Outpatient and Inpatient areas.This is a working supervisory post. We may create a panel of future candidates from this competition. Based in the City Centre and on the grounds of the oldest continuously operating maternity hospital in the world, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across all professional disciplines and become part of the Rotunda family. The successful candidates will have: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven IT skills & flexibility Excellent supervisory / people management skills Proven Customer services skills Beneficial: An understanding of the In-patient national protocol An understanding of iPMS and MNCMS interface Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Manage the operational activities of the areasof responsibility assigned as appropriate to the Job outline of the post 2.Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data entered on hospital database systems i.e. iPMS, NIMIS, BNU etc in line with legislation and hospital policy. Recommend /initiate developments and/or corrective action procedures & refresher training as required. 3.Co-ordinate staff workload including staff rotation and monitor levels of service activity in your area of responsibility 4.Train, develop, motivate and lead staff to ensure strategic goals and objectives of the area, Patient services department and the Hospital are achieved. 5.Assist in the development and reporting of Key Performance Indicators for the service assigned including developing & implementing quality improvement plans as required. 6.Work with the Patient Services Management team to identify and implement work process efficiencies and initiate steps to accomplish same within area of responsibility. 7.Ensure there are effective communication channels with job sharing partner and a fair distribution of Team Leader responsibilities. 8.Ensure appropriate administrative duties are carried out on a daily basis 9.Plan, implement and resolve daily operational duties of staff and workload of the area assigned including local IR issues. 10.Assist with the implementation of new technology and ICT systems as required. 11.Review and update as required all standard operating procedures within your area of responsibility on an annual basis.Ensure that the SOPs are available to all staff and become part of new starters training induction. 12.Continually develop and improve channels of communication systems and good working relationships between staff and other departments 13.Identify training needs and professional development requirements in consultation with staff and the Human Resources Department. 14.Promote cross training and developing staff skill set to cover all areas of the paediatric services i.e. radiology, in-patient ward, OP clinics, birth notification, and medical transcription. 15.Ensure that each team member clearly understands the reporting relationship within the their section , department and to the Patient Services Manager 16.Pro actively deal with employee relations issues at local level as appropriate 17.Educate staff to ensure Hospital policies and procedures are appropriately implemented and continually reviewed as they relate to the department 18.Deputise for the Deputy Patient Services Manager in his /her absence, when appropriate 19.Undertake continuing education and development activities consistent with the position Other duties appropriate to the post as assigned from time to time.
