The
Senior Technical Specialist – Azure & Data
will be responsible for the management, implementation, support, and administration of Azure Cloud and data technologies within the organisation, with experience in maintaining enterprise solutions built around the Microsoft technology stack.
This role involves working closely with the Senior Cloud Operations Manager, in-house specialists, external consultants, partners, and the business to ensure the effective deployment and maintenance of Azure and data services.
You should be able to clearly demonstrate excellent technical, analytical, organisational, and communication skills together with a proven track record in implementing Cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, document and maintain effective system configurations for Cloud services.
Management and implementation of system deployments and upgrades.
Work with team members to analyse system architecture and configurations and highlight potential improvements.
Collaborate with the Senior Cloud Operations Manager to review, develop, plan, and implement strategies for continuous systems improvement.
Monitor support incidents and work with support staff to provide effective prioritisation and resolution.
Own and manage day-to-day issues and see through to completion, escalating in a timely manner to senior team members when required.
Implement changes using the appropriate change-control process across the IT infrastructure.
Build strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers, application support teams, and the business.
Prepare and maintain procedure documentation relating to the overall environment.
Be a creative thinker and look for new ways the business can leverage Cloud and data technologies to improve efficiencies and capabilities.
Engage in ongoing professional development, including attaining professional qualifications as agreed with the Senior Cloud Operations Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
At least 5 years of experience within IT, with 2 years hands-on experience administering and/or implementing Azure environments.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving service-impacting issues.
Understanding of how to design and implement robust Cloud solutions.
Good understanding of Azure with a working knowledge of one or more Azure services including PaaS SQL, App Services, IaaS, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure networking, Azure Monitor, Logic Apps, Application Gateway, Azure Recovery Services, Azure Security Services.
An understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, and VPN.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at the appropriate level of detail and technical content for the target audience.
Excellent attention to detail.
A proactive approach to systems management.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.
Experience working in Financial Services would be advantageous.
