Handyman/Maintenance

Maintenance PersonRushmore Nursing Home is a charming 23 bed Nursing Home and we are looking for a maintenance person to join their team in Knocknacarra, Co.Galway.This role is to ensure the smooth operation & maintenance of our facilities to a high standard.The successful candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of the building, grounds and plant room areas.The right candidate will:Be a problem solver, using creative and innovative ways to resolve maintenance issues.Perform minor repairs of all building and equipmentComplete a building check monthly, identifying areas for maintenance work and coordinate with PPIM for scheduling.Update the maintenance schedule with the GM on a monthly basis.Liaise with external contracts e.g. electrics, plumbing, ceiling, flooring etcLiaise and order supplies with building companiesParticipate and contribute in your Fire Management roleComplete daily/weekly/monthly checklists for fire equipment, radiators, water etcMonitor monthly/quarterly servicing by external contractors and ensure correct scheduling of services e.g. fire alarm system, extinguishers, lifts, pest control, equipment etcFile all service certificates in maintenance folderUndertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the PIC/GMEnsure that all clinical waste is stored in the appropriate locked bin.Liaise with RGNS for the collection of the yellow bin/small yellow bins etc by Key Waste.Ensure area outside kitchen is well maintained and liaise with chef when there is recycling/waste items for removal.Schedule checks of supplies and store areas, liaise with kitchen and housekeeping staff for particular orders.Check all stock received is correct in accordance with the order sheetsCorrectly store any deliveries in a timely mannerEnsure work is carried out in compliance with legislation and health & safety protocolsManaging the timely workload of the maintenance department while effectively dealing with site prioritiesElectrical and Mechanical trouble-shooting.Manage contractors & service providersEnsure all service and check sheets are kept in date and stored in the Fire register & water management books.Maintain the building fabric to a high standard which will include painting & decorating.Skills:Maintenance Management, Maintenance work, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance Engineering, Plan schedule, ReportingJob Type: Part-timePay: From €***** per hourExpected hours: ******* per weekBenefits:On-site parkingLicence/Certification:A Driving Licence (required)Work Location: In person
