LocationGalwayExpire DateSalary€40 - €50 per hour + Mileage, AccommodationJob RefIS_Senior Dietitian – Community Diabetes Services (Galway)Salary: €70,000 – €80,000 DOE | Full-time or Part-time | ContractEmerald Locums, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Senior Dietitian to join a community-based service in Galway, specialising in diabetes care.This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes by supporting individuals to effectively manage their condition through evidence-based nutritional care.Flexible working arrangements are available, with both full-time and part-time options.Role PurposeThe Senior Dietitian will provide high-quality assessment, education, and intervention for adults and young people with diabetes in a community setting.The successful candidate will deliver person-centred care, working closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues to promote better management of diabetes and overall wellbeing.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver comprehensive nutritional assessments and care plans for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetesProvide individual and group-based education on diabetes management, lifestyle change, and diet optimisationCollaborate with GPs, nurses, and other community health professionals to deliver integrated diabetes careSupport the development of structured education programmes and resources for patients and familiesParticipate in service development, clinical governance, and audit to ensure high standards of careMaintain clear, accurate, and timely patient records in line with HSE and CORU standardsProvide guidance and support to junior staff and dietetic students where requiredRequirementsRecognised qualification in Human Nutrition and DieteticsCORU registration (essential)Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience, with significant expertise in diabetes careStrong communication, teaching, and counselling skillsAbility to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional developmentWhat's On OfferCompetitive salary: €70,000 – €80,000 DOEContract role with both full-time and part-time options availableCommunity-based service with strong multidisciplinary collaborationOpportunities for professional development and training in diabetes managementSupportive working environment with flexible arrangementsIf you are a motivated Senior Dietitian with experience in diabetes care and a passion for community health, we would love to hear from you.To apply, please send your CV to Emerald Locums and a member of our team will be in touch.INDHPGalway
