About the role:
We are in search of a solution-oriented and experienced
Staff Software Engineer (Backend)
to join our Affinidi Elements team.
In this role, you will work with global peers on teams dedicated to areas of the product portfolio, from the product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams.
You will be responsible for the continued enhancement and development of a multi-component platform, where your expert skills in designing, architecting, and building quality systems will intersect with your hands-on coding, performance testing, and integrating experience.

Build secure, high-quality features and improvements for Affinidi Elements using TypeScript & React
Turn complex data into actionable product decisions
Partner with product, security, and architecture teams to drive quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
Champion improvements in product quality, security, and performance
Tackle large, challenging technical problems with confident ownership
Write and review code that sets the bar for style, maintainability, and scalability
Lead and collaborate on major features and projects—minimal hand-holding required
Mentor peers; drive process and tooling improvements across the team
You will be a great match if you:
Have proven experience diagnosing and preventing performance issues
Have deep expertise in cloud computing (
AWS
preferred) and native environments
Understand design patterns and have a track record of deploying microservices in the cloud
Are skilled in
technical documentation
(C4 Model, ADRs)
Are hands-on with
REST APIs
and apply
Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Have a solid understanding of
cryptography
Bring experience in
authorization/authentication
domains
Thrive in autonomous, fast-moving startup environments and global teams
Experience working across functions, locations, and time zones
Expertise indecentralized identity solutions
Experience building systems with advanced cryptography requirements
