The tax team is expanding off the back of sustained growth, offering broad exposure across personal and corporate compliance, enquiries, and advisory support.

About the Role Reporting to the Tax Manager/Partners, you will manage a varied portfolio covering income tax, corporation tax, VAT and PAYE compliance.

As you settle in, you'll take on enquiry work (HMRC compliance checks) and support planning assignments, building your advisory capability.

What You'll Do Manage a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate clients, delivering accurate and timely self-assessment tax returns and corporation tax returns.

Prepare and review VAT returns and oversee PAYE/RTI compliance.

Maintain work-in-progress, monitor deadlines, and liaise directly with clients and HMRC.

Assist with HMRC enquiries, information requests and disclosure processes.

Support tax planning projects (for example: remuneration, incorporations, capital allowances, property, shareholder extractions).

Use practice software to track workflows, produce filings and keep audit-ready records.

Essential Criteria Minimum 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice environment.

ATT qualified (Association of Tax Technicians).

Clear communicator with strong numeracy, accuracy and deadline management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.

Desirable Criteria Working knowledge of preparing VAT returns using Sage 50 Accounts.

Understanding of payroll processes and Sage 50 Payroll.

Familiarity with tax return filing software (for example: Tax Calc, IRIS, CCH or similar).
