Finance Manager - Little Island, Cork Reports To: Plant Director Job Overview and Key Responsibilities Role Purpose The Finance Manager is responsible for providing financial guidance, direction, and leadership for the manufacturing business.
They will deliver financial information and analysis to the Plant Director and senior management to support decision-making.
This includes preparing accurate and timely financial statements, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and job costing.
The Finance Manager will ensure effective compliance and control within the organization.
Key Responsibilities Include: Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, procedures, and systems.
Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
Manage weekly payroll.
Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Govern customer product pricing and perform regular margin reviews.
Ensure timely filing of returns (Irish VAT, VIES, Intrastat, UK VAT, UK Plastic Tax).
Partner with the Plant Director and senior team to provide insights and drive operational efficiency.
Lead, develop, and support the Finance team with succession planning.
Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Lead strategic projects tied to site transformation and new business.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as needed.
Qualifications and Experience 5+ years PQE (e.g.
ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
Experience in manufacturing or a similar environment is highly desirable.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
High personal integrity, strong work ethic, and practical mindset.
Effective team player.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Positive, proactive attitude.
Knowledge of IFRS and local standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
Fluent in English.
