My Ban Senior Analyst/Developer (Permanent Contract) The successful candidate can be based in the Kerry or Cork campus.

Summary and description of Project and Post: My Ban is the name given to the Ellucian Banner Student Records Management System (SRMS) and associated systems in MTU.

This is the central University system for all student records, containing processes such as Admissions, Registration, Examinations, Fees to name a few.

There are two instances of Banner in the University Cork and Kerry.

A project is underway to merge these instances.

The Banner instances in the University are cloud-based and are provided and supported by Edu Campus/DXC as part of the sector consortium.

The My Ban team administer My Ban and associated systems, work with functional users on implementing processes in My Ban, identify enhancements, provide support to functional users, run and support Examination processing.

A significant part of the work involves improving the experience of users through the provision of solutions and reports.

The baseline system has several customisations developed in-house to support the business practices within the University.

The My Ban team are responsible for any associated integrations/projects including upgrades.

This role as a My Ban Senior Analyst/Developer will provide analysis and development support inputting to the My Ban team, overseeing the maintenance & application of Banner standards and becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of applications & reporting tools used with the SRMS, working with team members both functional and technical in enhancing the SRMS.

The Banner database system is Oracle based and cloud hosted.

A significant part of this role involves PL/SQL development.

The main reporting tool used for operational reports is e Visions Argos.

Banner also provides a number of development tools for forms.

Such work will involve but is not limited to the following activities: Working as a team member and Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the my Ban team Be the technical and development lead in the my Ban team Ensure the implementation of existing standards for My Ban and the development of any required new standards Work with the my Ban functional lead to design, develop and implement enhancements to existing processes and new developments in a sustainable manner Liaise with service providers where required Manage and maintain the user role and security functions for the SRMS associated systems Until the SRMSs have been merged into a single instance, ensure that all developments undertaken are aligned.

Develop, manage and maintain documentation user and technical for local developments Work with team members to develop appropriate training resources for users.

Provide mentoring and technical training to other technical members of the team.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Senior Banner Analyst/Developer will report to the University Record, Reporting and EDSU Manager and be responsible for the supervision, co-ordination, direction and administration of all technical staff and services within the My Ban team, and such other technical duties as may be laid down by the University Record, Reporting and EDSU Manager.

The following indicate some of the principal duties and responsibilities that will be assigned: Work as the technical lead in the My Ban team Supervise My Ban technical team members Work with the My Ban functional leads to analyse and develop solutions for SRMS and associated systems & processes, managing the development resources.

Oversee and manage the development, implementation and maintenance of My Ban data, technical documentation, user documentation and coding standards Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation Work with the Computer Services team as the technical liaison within the My Ban team Work with the SRMS and associated systems providers to manage the application of upgrades, patches etc.

As it is planned to merge the Cork and Kerry instances, this will be a significant project for this role.

Assisting in agreeing and monitoring agreed service level agreements.

Managing the roll-out of enhancements, ensuring the appropriate security levels and appropriate access for users.

Significant Oracle development experience (SQL, PL/SQL) Experience working with users and transforming their requirements into optimised solutions A proven track record of: Gathering and analysing user requirements; Compiling specification documents; Developing solutions based on the agreed specifications; Thorough testing in a pre-production environment; Planning for release of solution to production environment; Development and delivery of end user training and documentation; Providing and maintaining system documentation; Supporting locally developed solutions.

Project planning, management, implementation, roll-out and ongoing maintenance and support.

Desirable Skills Skills necessary to supervise, co-ordinate and direct technical staff, providing direction where appropriate to functional staff.

Management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to take initiative, lead and work with people.

Good organisational and problem-solving skills.

Evidence of personal development through further educational training/professional development.

Terms of the Appointment / Salary Scale: Salary Scale: 69,111- 81,867 per annum Permanent whole-time: 36.5 hours per week.

Annual leave: 29 days per annum.

Employment permit holders can only work for the employer named on the permit.
