largest Public Sector organisations? VANRATH are recruiting for a Construction Works Engineer to be responsible for planning and technical, quality and safety assurance support, including site supervision, for Permanent Way works to support delivery of the Permanent Way construction / maintenance programme.

The post holder may also be required to undertake the role of Supervisor on NEC contracts.

Remuneration: c£32,000, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

Client Our client is one of the largest Public Sector organisations in NI.

The Ideal Person Essential Experience in planning and managing construction works contracts Knowledge of managing construction works contracts Possess a construction-related degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 year's experience in civil engineering construction OR Possess a minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 4 year's experience in Civil Engineering Construction Full current driving license and access to a vehicle to meet the requirements of the post in full Ability to work at heights, within confined spaces, during weekends and at nights as required Desirable Experience in railway infrastructure Experience of working in a safety critical environment Experience of supervising teams and assuring performance.

Responsibilities Review construction method proposals, methodologies and risk assessments.

Undertake frequent site visits to inspect and coordinate work sites for compliance to all requirements in the contract - quality, safety and environment.

Supervise construction works and undertake role of the NEC contract Site Supervisor where required.

Ensure Continuous Improvement is at the forefront of the role, and show demonstrable assurance of improving performance.

Prepare progress and quality reports including works impacting on schedule, quality, cost implications, H&S and identified risks and issues.

Escalate issues and risks to line management including the impact of change and the evaluation of compensation events.

Advise line management of issues impacting on costs, technical, schedule or H&S and Environment.

Ensure appropriate consideration is given to the organisations equality duties as well as specific commitments associated with your job role.
