Location: Belfast Workplace: Hybrid The opportunity: The Senior Finance & Accounting Manager, Record-to-Report (R2 R) will be responsible for managing a team of experienced, qualified accountants, ensuring financial integrity of local accounting records, managing year-end audit and liaising with internal and external auditors.

The role-holder will oversee In-Market financial support to Lawyers and Business Professionals.

Main responsibilities: Supervise and manage a team of experienced finance individuals Deal with ad-hoc queries on such matters as coding, expenses, and asset capitalization, and review/correct mispostings Review and supervise the monthly management accounts process for the London office; Liaise with the finance function in the Belfast Service Center Approve monthly payroll, assist in the release of payments and approval of expenses Provide detailed analysis and information needed to explain and drive financial initiatives and priorities Coordinate and manage the execution of finance-related projects and initiatives, including preparation of the London office budget and forecasts, primarily focusing on the Firm's cost base Support Business Professionals' functions initiatives and help ensure they are implemented in alignment with strategy and guidelines set by Specialist Functions and Global Process Owners Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the financial operations Provide financial support to lawyers and business services, actively collaborating with them to increase profitability by managing the cost base Manage the statutory finance team in preparing the statutory accounts of the London entities in compliance with FRS102, as required, and liaise with the external audit of those accounts Work with the finance team in London and Belfast in preparing the required backup to balances for the global internal audit function.

Comparing accrual and cash accounting Assist the APS Committee (Additional Profit Share), working with the committee in analyzing partner performance, providing additional financial information when required, as well as calculating proposed spend against budget Prepare yearly schedules for Firm insurance Review and approve the month-end reconciliations produced by London Finance Various ad-hoc annual summaries (e.g.

gift aid calculations, cash distributions for partners with US tax returns) Various ad-hoc projects as and when required Skills and experience: A bachelor's degree is desirable Qualified with an appropriate recognized accounting body Respectful to others, regardless of their position, and earns the respect of others by being transparent Has care and concern for others and a genuine interest in others as people Treats delicate or confidential issues with discretion Working at Baker Mc Kenzie: Baker Mc Kenzie is the world's leading law firm with offices all over the world.
