HIPE Coder (Hospital In-Patient Enquiry) (Permanent | 21 hours per week | Clerical Officer Grade V) Applicants should: Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI) Have evidence of experience in medical terminology and patient charts.

Display knowledge of the importance of HIPE and Activity Based Funding.

Experience of clinical coding in ICD-10 desirable Understand the total healthcare delivery system.

Proven IT skills Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.

Have proven organisational skills and attention to detail.

Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.

Important Note for Internal candidates only Applications for this role will be accepted from internal candidates who are currently employed as Clerical Officer Grade IV.

Please note that if such candidates are successful in appointment, they will be employed as Grade IV until they have satisfactorily completed the HIPE Clinical Coder Education Programme as part of this role upon which they will then be appointed to Clerical Officer Grade V.
