Overview: A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Shift Technician to join a critical utilities maintenance team supporting a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the Dublin 15 area.

This is a shift-based role, focused on maintaining the electrical and control infrastructure behind essential systems such as HVAC, boilers, purified water, and other site-wide services.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid electrical background who understands how to operate and maintain complex, regulated utility systems in a GMP environment.

Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain electrical systems that support site-critical utilities, including motors, control panels, sensors, and automation components.

Troubleshoot and repair faults related to electrical equipment supplying HVAC, steam, chilled water, clean utilities, and compressed air systems.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and first-line electrical fault response in a highly regulated (GMP) manufacturing environment.

Support control systems maintenance including PLC, SCADA, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Liaise with contractors and other engineering disciplines during planned and corrective maintenance activities.

Ensure work is performed in accordance with site safety standards, permit to work procedures, and Good Engineering Practice (GEP).

Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.

Support the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Electrical Work Instructions, and training records.

Contribute to site-wide reliability improvement initiatives, energy efficiency, and utilities optimisation projects.

Required Skills and Experience: Recognised qualification in an Electrical or Electrical / Mechanical Discipline (e.g.

Senior Trades, City & Guilds, or equivalent minimum level 6).

Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in an industrial setting, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, but also regulated manufacturing sectors.

Hands-on experience with: Motor control and protection systems (VSDs, contactors, overloads) Electrical panels, switchgear, and power distribution Field instrumentation (e.g.

temperature, pressure, level, flow sensors) Control systems (PLC/SCADA/BMS) Ability to diagnose faults and read electrical drawings and P&IDs.

Comfortable working within a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).

Strong awareness of safety standards and electrical compliance, including permit to work systems.

Understanding of GMP, GEP, and related quality documentation standards.

Desirable: Experience working in a 24/7 shift-based production facility.

Familiarity with cleanroom or sterile environments.

Knowledge of IPPC license requirements or environmental compliance.

Basic understanding of mechanical systems and their electrical dependencies (e.g.

chilled water pumps, airhandling units, steam boilers).
