Electrical Maintenance Technician Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dublin 15. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, control panels, sensors, and automation components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain electrical systems that support site-critical utilities, including HVAC, boilers, purified water, and other site-wide services.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults related to electrical equipment supplying HVAC, steam, chilled water, clean utilities, and compressed air systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and first-line electrical fault response in a highly regulated (GMP) manufacturing environment.
  • Support control systems maintenance including PLC, SCADA, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Liaise with contractors and other engineering disciplines during planned and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with site safety standards, permit to work procedures, and Good Engineering Practice (GEP).

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised qualification in an Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical discipline (e.g Senior Trades, City & Guilds, or equivalent minimum level 6).
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in an industrial setting, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotech, but also regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with motor control and protection systems (VSDs, contactors, overloads), electrical panels, switchgear, and power distribution.
  • Field instrumentation (e.g temperature, pressure, level, flow sensors) and control systems (PLC/SCADA/BMS).
  • Ability to diagnose faults and read electrical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Comfortable working within a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
  • Strong awareness of safety standards and electrical compliance, including permit to work systems.
  • Understanding of GMP, GEP, and related quality documentation standards.
