Electrical Maintenance Technician

Dublin 7 - Full time

Are you a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with a mechanical overview? Are you skilled in BMS and CAFM? If so, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your technical knowledge and further your career within a growing PPP / PFI contract at the new Grangegorman campus for TU Dublin.

You will operate across the contract with regard to planned and reactive maintenance, including general lighting, building controls, small power and distribution, BMS systems, and other equipment found in modern commercial/industrial premises, ensuring high levels of compliance and health & safety. You will also be responsible for recommending and delivering products and processes to improve system performance, leading on electrical installations (LV).

This position will suit a multi-skilled professional who also has an overview of mechanical engineering and is a practical thinker with good attention to detail.

Please note, you will be required to undertake the role within a weekly rotating early/late shift system and be prepared to assume on-call responsibilities.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll:

- Carry out and oversee the day-to-day operation, including planned maintenance, fault finding (including PAT testing), repair, periodic inspections, and testing of services in a building environment
- Inspect and perform reactive activities on Mechanical Building Services equipment such as heating boilers, pumps, compressed air systems, sanitary ware, fan coil and air handling units, BMS systems, and other equipment
- Ensure corrective maintenance and reactive works are completed within priority timescales
- Ensure work complies with legislation, codes of practice, manufacturer's recommendations, HSE guidelines, and contract standards
- Receive and execute planned or reactive workloads from the Hard Services Manager using IT systems as part of the CAFM system

What we're looking for:

- Experience as an Engineer in a similar role
- Qualifications such as QQI, HND, NVQ, or equivalent in Electrical Trade
- C&G 2382-18 (18th Edition BS7671:2018), ideally with C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
- IOSH Qualification, CSCS Card, and/or Safe Pass or equivalent
- Experience with a CAFM system
- Experience in building maintenance organizations
- Ability to multi-task across mechanical and building disciplines at a basic level
- Strong organizational skills and ability to lead others
- Ability to analyze and provide technical advice and solutions
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently
- Previous appointment as AP/CP in disciplines such as LV, Confined Spaces, or Working at Heights
