Job Title: Electronic Health Record SME

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Health Record (EHR) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in Letterkenny, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance on Epic and Cerner systems, collaborating with end-users and project teams, and shaping transformation healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases.
  • Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module(s).
  • Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements.
  • Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs.
  • Provide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers.
  • Serve as a mentor/subject matter expert to local and client-based team members.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation.

Requirements:

  • Deep experience of Epic or Cerner systems, with active / current Epic or Cerner certification in at least one area.
  • Degree education or equivalent experience.
  • Direct client healthcare domain knowledge such as clinical documentation workflow, patient portal, closing encounters, and patient flow.
  • Ability to take on a new application or project area with proven success.
  • Managing application specific work plans at the resource and task level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring individuals or teams within the system.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic and intermediate project management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple client assignments and communicate with all stakeholders involved.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and work effectively with patients, physicians, vendors and system staff at all levels.
  • Capable to lead and work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.

Working Arrangements:

Occasional after-work hours may be required to support emergency response and operational needs. We offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
