Principal Duties- To participate in enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of the residents to provide as far as possible, a happy and stimulating experience.
- Help Residents to socialise within the home and community.
- Encourage staff members, relatives, and friends to participate in the home's activities with Residents.
- Complete 'This is Me' booklets with Residents and families and ensure all Residents have memory boxes and name plates on rooms with a choice of picture or symbol.
- To plan ongoing weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the Residents' wishes, and encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.
- To assess individual needs continuously, particularly with regard to possible rehabilitation and to participate in Resident reviews as appropriate.
- Foster good community relations and manage the volunteer programme in line with the centre's policy.
- Experience in older person care.
- Experience in dementia care.
- Ability to plan and lead in activities/social planning in line with Residents' choice and ability.
- EU Citizen or alternative work permit/visa.
- Sonas or Imagination Gym Training desirable.
- Dementia specific training.
- Degree/masters level programme related to social/healthcare.
