Description of Post
The Lecturer will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and fostering academic excellence within the institution. The successful candidate will teach and develop engaging course content, supervise student research projects, and contribute to curriculum development. Alongside teaching, the lecturer will engage in research activities, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and participating in academic collaborations. This role also involves supporting students' academic and personal development while contributing to the institution's community and research goals. The position requires a commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and maintaining high standards in teaching and research.
The post relates primarily to the teaching on the M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Clinical Measurement Physiology programmes within the Department of Health and Nutritional Sciences. This will also include specialist discipline modules in Neurophysiology.
Essential Qualifications
- An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher), as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ L8), in Clinical Measurement Physiology, or equivalent as per the requirements of the professional body (IICMP), and an M.Sc. in a cognate area, or equivalent recognised professional qualifications.
- Three years relevant post-qualification clinical experience in Neurophysiology and have a working knowledge of Clinical Measurement physiology/ Clinical Physiology, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of a clinical-facing post, which would include demonstrable work/training undertaken in a relevant clinical setting.
- Current knowledge and skills in Clinical Measurement/ Clinical Physiology and have no legal or other impediment that would affect their ability to practice safely and effectively in an academic or clinical setting.
