About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experiencedStructural Steel Fitterto join our team in Westmeath. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fitting, assembling, and installation of structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and site specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and steel fabrication plans.
  • Accurately measure, mark, cut, drill, and fit structural steel components.
  • Assemble steel structures in the workshop and on-site as required.
  • Assist with the erection and installation of steel frameworks on construction sites.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machinery to complete work to high standards.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with welders, crane operators, and site managers during the assembly process.
  • Perform pre-assembly and final checks to confirm alignment, levels, and tolerances.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a structural steel fitter or similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of fabrication and fitting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of steel types, tolerances, and site safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate.
