Distribution Manager

Overview

Distribution Centre Manager position at Catalyx, based on our customer site in Dublin. The role requires liaising with the client site and the Catalyx Management team to deploy industry best practice procedures for optimizing the movement of product throughout the Distribution Centre.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Lead the Distribution Centre team to achieve performance targets aligned with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with local and international customer services teams to prioritise orders and provide a best-in-class service.
• Provide monthly KPI reports to management with causal analysis of variances and corrective actions.
• Work with Finance to identify potential write-offs and ensure appropriate financial reserves in accounting systems.
• Ensure GDP compliance by transportation providers to SOPs and applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
• Develop inventory processes to minimise risk and improve GMP/GDP compliance within the Distribution Centre.
• Manage process and material flows, space utilisation, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain a work environment that supports quality policy and regulatory requirements; uphold 7S housekeeping principles.
• Supervise the Distribution Centre team, ensuring service to internal and external customers through empowering leadership and strong employee relations.
• Manage communications and conduct periodic reviews with staff; address performance issues constructively and promptly.
• Facilitate open two-way communication via weekly team meetings and daily on-the-line interactions.
• Lead training programs to enable right-first-time execution of all activities.
• Ensure compliance with EHS and Company policies, including employment legislation.
• Handle administration duties including time/attendance, holiday planning, and succession planning.
• Coordinate shipments between warehouses and maintain performance metrics.
• Prepare and maintain ERP documents such as work orders, purchase orders and Material Transfer Requests.
• Drive ad-hoc meetings to review inventory/process/system exceptions or changes.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Present monthly KPI, service, people, delivery, and safety updates to the client; build/maintain client relationships to meet service standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, external warehouse and 3PL partners.
• Support process improvements that add value to the client and the business.
• Perform additional duties as assigned aligned to the team's mission.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science / Engineering or relevant qualification (preferred).
• Experience in people management, motivation, organization, and team development.
• Experience in a medical device/pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP/GDP/FDA regulatory requirements and related compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of validation is an advantage.
• Experience in Known Consignor warehouse operations is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies would be a distinct advantage.
• Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and strong leadership, decision-making, and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess challenging business situations and determine strategy.
• Experience with ERP systems.
