The successful candidate will work as part of H&MV Engineering's growing in-house legal team on a range of legal and contractual matters to ensure that our in-house affairs are appropriately managed. This role suits someone with at least 2+ years post-qualification experience (PQE) as a solicitor and will report to the Senior Legal Counsel. The position is based in H&MV's headquarters in Limerick, Ireland, with scope for hybrid working.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various types of commercial agreements for use in respect of H&MV Engineering's business operations, including construction-related contracts with clients, partners and suppliers.
  • Providing legal advice to H&MV personnel on applicable law, regulatory and legislative changes in Ireland and other jurisdictions where H&MV has operations.
  • Advising commercial and operations teams on contract disputes and claims.
  • Involvement in assessing potential mergers & acquisitions and related due diligence.
  • Maintaining the legal documents and contracts library.
  • Drafting and contributing to H&MV policies and strategy.
  • Keeping the H&MV suite of standard sub-contracts and other templates (including NDAs) up to date.
  • Liaising with legal advisors across Ireland, the UK and the EEA.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Qualified Irish/UK solicitor with 2+ years PQE in corporate, commercial or construction and/or litigation.
  • Team player able to manage relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, lead and manage projects, and work autonomously to drive results.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to identify potential legal issues while considering business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience drafting/negotiating construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC) is advantageous.
