About the role:

Responsibilities
  • Lead continued enhancement and development of a multi-component platform within the Affinidi Elements team.
  • Design, architect, and build quality systems, while growing a high-performing, diverse team.
  • Collaborate with product, design, infrastructure, architecture, and back/front-end engineering teams across the globe.
  • Lead delivery of significantly complex features with minimal guidance and support, collaborating with cross-functional teams on larger projects.
  • Coach engineers, promote best practices, and foster a transparent, collaborative culture.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
  • Contribute to the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain code standards for a high-scale systems environment and ensure adherence within the team and department.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a track record of solving performance and optimization problems and scaling through others.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in fast-paced environments with autonomy and experimentation across the stack.
  • Hands-on coding experience and the ability to balance coding with delegation.
  • Proven experience delivering production-quality products to industry standards.
  • Expertise in developer experience tools (CLI, SDK, Developer portal).
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including C4 Model and Architectural Decision Records.
  • Expertise in cloud computing and native environments (AWS serverless preferred).
  • Experience guiding development and deployment of microservices in the cloud.
  • Hands-on with REST APIs and applying Test Driven Development principles.
  • Commitment to privacy by design, security, testing, and mentoring, with clear communication and inclusive practices.
