Role/Department:

This role is part of the Cybersecurity Third Party Risk Management team within the 1st Line of Defense. The candidate will conduct security risk assessments on new and existing Northern Trust third-party business partners, ensuring proper controls are in place and providing recommendations to address control weaknesses.

The candidate will combine deep subject matter expertise in both cybersecurity and assurance disciplines, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  10. Legal, Regulatory, Investigations, and Compliance
  11. Physical and Environmental Security
  12. Cloud Security
  13. Understanding of regulatory requirements related to Cyber Security, Information Security, Business Resilience, and Business Continuity Management
  14. Knowledge of risk treatment, issues management, and industry tools
  15. Security controls considering data protection, access controls, network segmentation, and digital technologies like AI
  16. Experience securing cloud networking and hybrid configurations
  17. Participate in cyber incident response and provide guidance on cybersecurity risks and control assurance
  18. Foster a positive, collaborative environment
  19. Demonstrate flexibility, multi-tasking, and good judgment to meet priorities
  20. Contribute to automation, analytics, and process improvements
  21. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in global, cross-functional teams
  • Deep understanding of information security, network management, operating systems, software development, database systems, and IT
  • Knowledge of frameworks like NIST, CIS, ISO is a plus
  • Knowledge of cloud security controls
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, SharePoint, and reporting tools
