The role

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our group while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. You will play a critical role in consolidating financial statements, analysing financial performance across our divisions, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes. You will work closely with various departments to develop budgets, forecast financial performance, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Additionally, you will be involved in the preparation and presentation of reports for the senior leadership team and may provide guidance and support to other finance team members. Your analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data will be essential in helping us maintain our competitive edge in the evolving plastics market.

Responsibilities
  • Monthly general ledger processing and preparation of monthly accounts for corporate/head-office entities to strict IFRS and corporate accounting policy deadlines.
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet analysis and reconciliations including bank, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
  • Preparation of individual financial statements for Group entities to meet filing deadlines.
  • Liaising with auditors to address audit information requests.
  • Preparation of intercompany management recharges.
  • Assist with implementation of internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Complete bi-weekly cash flow forecasting for corporate entities.
  • Assist with other ad hoc financial information requests.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, CPA, ACCA)
  • Newly qualified Accountant — 3 years pre-qualification experience
  • Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
