Job Summary: Victoria Hotel Galway seeks a passionate and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in driving culinary excellence across our bars, restaurants, and event catering services. This role demands innovation and ambition to enhance our dining offerings and ensure a memorable gastronomic experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine menus, ensuring a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes that reflect our brand and satisfy diverse palates.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including ingredient procurement, recipe standardization, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a team of kitchen staff to ensure culinary and hygienic standards are met.
  • Collaborate with management to control kitchen costs, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Spearhead the culinary aspect of events, creating bespoke menus and overseeing their execution to high standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume, upscale hotel or restaurant.
  • Culinary arts training from a reputable institution; additional certifications in hospitality management a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing a cohesive team.
  • Creative culinary skills with the ability to forecast and react to dining trends.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in managing budgets and cost controls.
