Senior Solution Engineer

Overview

Senior Solution Engineer - DACH (f/m/d) at Contentful. Our Solution Engineers are close partners of our sales team and own key components of the sales process including infrastructural/architectural discovery, collaborative solution design, and technical validation. Solution Engineers may travel up to 50% of the time and will work with teams around the world, from visionary brands to innovative digital agencies.

What to expect

This is a customer-facing role. You should expect up to 50% travel to the office and/or customer locations. You will work directly with Commercial Account Executives to support DACH customers, help prospects understand what's possible with Contentful and how it compares to older legacy technologies, and validate prospects' requirements against our platform. You will create product demonstrations and assist with technical evaluations to show how Contentful solves identified business problems and integrates into a prospect's technology stack. You will communicate prospect and customer needs and product feedback to product management, marketing, and sales. You will collaborate with Solution Architects and Customer Success Managers to ensure newly-signed customers successfully implement and launch their projects with Contentful.

Responsibilities

• Support DACH customers by working directly with Commercial Account Executives.
• Demonstrate how Contentful fits prospects' needs and how it differs from legacy technologies.
• Analyze prospects' project requirements and validate them against Contentful; identify and mitigate technical and business risks.
• Develop product demonstrations and assist with technical evaluations to illustrate how our platform solves business problems and integrates with the prospect's tech stack.
• Communicate prospect and customer needs and product feedback to product management, marketing, and sales.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Customer Success Managers to ensure successful implementation and launch of customer projects.

What You Need To Be Successful

• Fluency in English and German
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple opportunities and teams
• 3–5 years of experience as a Sales/Solution Engineer/Architect or Solution Consultant for a cloud-based, growth-oriented PaaS or SaaS company; or 5–10 years as a developer working on digital experience delivery using marketing tech platforms focused on CMS, Commerce, Personalisation, etc.
• Strong presentation skills to clearly convey business and technical knowledge to both marketing-focused and technically-focused personas
• Proven experience with current web technologies (JavaScript frameworks, static site generators, REST APIs, CDNs, CI/CD, etc.)
• High emotional intelligence to navigate meetings with multiple customer stakeholders
• Natural curiosity for how technology drives change and translates into business value

Highly Desired But Not Essential

• Experience with Content Management Platforms or similar MarTech
• Experience with solution selling methodologies and/or value-based selling
• Understanding of MACH concepts and Composable architectures and how they relate to Contentful
