Overview

Senior Software Engineer -Llama Stack Operator- (Ireland) at Red Hat. The role focuses on developing a Kubernetes/OpenShift Operator and related software to orchestrate deployment of Llama Stack, contributing to Red Hat's AI/ML product family and Enterprise readiness.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with Staff Engineers, Engineering, Product Management, and User Experience to define customer needs and use cases.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to develop and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, maintain CI/CD workflows in GitHub, and ensure downstream quality.
  • Participate in AI-assisted code reviews, leveraging tools that provide real-time feedback, identify potential issues, and enforce coding standards.
  • Proactively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development cycles and improve code quality.
  • Create and maintain upstream technical documentation including API references and user guides, coordinating with internal writers for downstream documentation.
What You Will Bring
  • 7 to 10 years of advanced Kubernetes and Go development experience
  • Experience designing robust, scalable software for highly scaled distributed systems
  • Experience developing Kubernetes/OpenShift Operators and operational knowledge of building/deploying containers
  • Experience developing Kubernetes Controllers and kubebuilder
  • Advanced knowledge automating GitHub workflows using GitHub Actions or related CI tools
  • Experience developing, deploying, or maintaining on-premises or cloud infrastructure
  • Experience creating and maintaining unit, functional, and end-to-end tests and automation
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new tools and technologies
The Following Will Be Considered a Plus
  • Experience with Security (FIPS, FedRAMP, CVE Management), Observability, Performance or Scale
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies, Scrum, and/or Jira
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms and tools such as LlamaStack, LangChain, PyTorch, LLaMA.cpp, vLLM, LangGraph, Kubeflow
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
