Vhi Group Services DAC has a full-time 2-year FTC contract role for the position of Senior Security Officer (shift work) based in our Kilkenny Office. The successful candidate will be highly competent and capable of monitoring the premises and protecting our colleagues and visitors.

Role Purpose
  • Ensure a safe environment through active patrols, access control, monitoring, and equipment management.
  • Respond promptly to distress calls, alarms, and emergencies involving disorderly conduct or incidents.
  • Maintain professionalism and legal compliance to uphold the company's reputation.
  • Coordinate with security team members for effective coverage, including scheduling and leave management.
  • Manage outsourced security partners regarding shifts, leave, and daily duties.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Facilities Manager on events or issues.
  • Keep the Senior Security Officer informed of any immediate threats.
  • Update and maintain Security Procedures and Service tickets for shared spaces in Kilkenny.
  • Manage access control systems and monitor entry of persons, including activation/deactivation of access cards.
  • Set, respond to, and maintain alarms; oversee building opening/closing and key control.
  • Assist with office equipment, furniture, materials, and stationery storage.
  • Ensure building facilities are safe and operational, controlling heating, ventilation, lighting, and electrical equipment.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of lead experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with conflict management abilities
  • Decisive decision-making in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Team player with active listening skills
  • Alignment with Vhi values
