Credit Manager

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Credit Manager to manage the company's credit function. This role involves making credit line decisions and acting as the direct line manager for the credit team. Using a professional and proactive attitude, you will provide your team with clear guidance and support, encouraging productivity and ensuring targets and deadlines are met. You will also produce and analyze complex debt ledgers and identify key issues requiring strong analytical and numerical skills. You will work closely with front-of-office departments including sales and pricing teams. Building strong working relationships is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the team
  • Ensure adequate training and coaching are available
  • Maintain credit, collections, and customer accounts to the highest standards and in line with SLAs
  • Handle customer queries and escalations effectively
  • Agree on customer payment plans
  • Liaise with DCA's and legal counsel when applicable
  • Assist colleagues as the business demands
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Represent the company on industry bodies and attend meetings as required
  • Review accounts periodically with credit controllers and sales management
Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage the debtors ledger
  • Maintain performance in line with company KPIs
  • Agree on customer credit terms and limits
  • Handle customer queries
  • Maintain accurate customer records
  • Process relevant transactions daily
  • Ensure SOX compliance at all times
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years' credit experience; experience in food services advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years' people management experience
  • Understanding of debt ledgers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Relevant qualifications are an advantage
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance is an advantage
  • Full class B driver's license and flexibility to travel
