Reporting to the Senior Project Delivery Engineer the Senior Analyst/Project Accountant will be responsible for the management of the project budgets and costs for a large infrastructure project. The key deliverable of the role is to ensure that all costs to date and all costs incurred going forward are correctly allocated to the relevant customer project in line with the approved cost allocation methodology.

Responsibilities
  • Understand, refine, and implement the cost allocation methodology associated with the projects to ensure all project costs are accurately assigned to the correct customer project.
  • Oversee the management of project budgets and costs, ensuring that project spends are allocated to the correct project in line with the cost allocation methodology.
  • Collaborate with the Project Quantity Surveyor to ensure that the certification of all payments to contractors and suppliers is in line with the cost allocation methodology.
  • Generate high quality templates to capture projected monthly project expenditure.
  • Assist in generating project budgeting, planning, and forecasting to inform customer invoicing, expenditure approvals and corporate budgets.
  • Potential to assist with financial management of other projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Relevant third level degree and at least 5 years' financial project management experience.
  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA; ACMA; ACCA) or equivalent.
  • Financial project management experience is highly desirable, in areas such as the development and management of project budgets, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a team including interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement solutions.
  • Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review cost information/trends as needed.
