Managing Director, emPowerment Financial Search & Selection

EMPOWERMENT are working on a very exciting finance management opportunity with an entrepreneurial, Irish lead company combining best practice healthcare and technology. Their innovative solution will have a transformative effect on the lives of millions of patients. The company have raised over US$200 million to date and an IPO is planned by 2029. Share options are included in the remuneration package.

As the company prepares for ongoing scaling and ultimate listing, it is essential that best practices are in place and maintained. The incumbent will play a leading role in the this regard in particular the management of financial operations, reporting & compliance.

This is a varied and 'hands on role', which offers great potential for professional development in a very collaborative and friendly working environment.

Financial Operations

Business as Usual

• Manage/optimise payments & liquidity & reporting of same

• Manage R&D contemporaneous timesheets & reporting process and related R&D regime requirements

• Manage month-end close process to strict timelines

Process Improvements & Systems Implementation

• Support the implementation of finance system upgrades, software and reporting tools

• Lead ongoing development, implementation and documentation of robust policies & processes in line with scaling operations and best practice

• Lead development and communication of comprehensive guidance of finance processes to wider team

Reporting, compliance & governance

• Prepare monthly and quarterly accounts/management information pack to meet internal and external reporting deadlines (incl. analysis for executive management, the board and external investors)

• Lead annual financial audit, investor audit requests and preparation of statutory accounts

• Review R & D Tax credit, VAT and annual corporation tax returns

• Complete other information requests as required (CSO, investor etc)

Performance management and business partnership

• Support VP Finance with development of annual budget and periodic forecasting process

• Work with the various department heads/budget owners to develop budgets

• Prepare detailed performance analysis and other ad hoc financial analysis as required

• Support identification and implement cost management initiatives

Financial strategy and corporate structure

• Support due diligence and execution of financing transactions

• Support corporate structuring projects and integration to business as usual finance operations

Experience, competencies and skills

• Big 4 / Top 10 trained Chartered Accountant with circa 4 - 6 years PQE, preferably with industry experience.

• Flexible, enthusiastic, self-starter, team player who is comfortable working in a fast paced dynamic environment with regular change.

• Excellent analytical skills (advanced Excel) with very strong numeracy

• High attention to detail

• Strong report writing experience

• Strong communicator with experience developing relationships with senior internal stakeholders to understand their requirements

• Good commercial acumen and understanding of how the finance function adds value to strategic decision-making

• Hands on approach and aptitude for proactively identifying issues, proposing & implementing solutions.

• Strong project management and multi-tasking skills

• Proven ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple, shifting priorities
