Job Description:

Overview

To proactively promote a positive Environmental, Health and Safety environment for all employees. The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will provide technical support on occupational safety, ergonomic issues, and other relevant environmental, health and safety issues.

Responsibilities

  1. Carry out risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
  2. Implement and update EHS control procedures as required.
  3. Develop training programmes and provide training on EHS.
  4. Advise department managers on EHS issues relevant to their particular department.
  5. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
  6. Coordinate environmental controls and ensure compliance with IPC licence.
  7. Ensure records are maintained and reports are generated in a timely manner.
  8. Liaise with external EHS agencies (HSA, EPA) to ensure compliance with all environmental licenses.
  9. Coordinate site environmental waste management and drive continuous improvements.
  10. Ensure adherence to Cook's Code of Conduct in all business matters.
  11. Act as a designee for the Facilities Manager for change control review as per Quality System Procedures.
  12. Implement ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard.
  13. Coordinate procurement, supply, and maintenance of personal protective equipment and monitoring equipment, maintaining all related records.
  14. Analyze data, initiate corrective measures as needed, and coordinate meetings, training, and occupational health programs.
  15. Carry out accident investigations and generate reports.

Qualifications

  1. Relevant third-level qualification and/or relevant experience.
  2. Three to four years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  3. Experience with IPC licences and environmental management.
  4. Knowledge of CE certification of equipment.
  5. Knowledge and experience of Occupational/Industrial hygiene.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
