Details
  • Location: Talara, Peru
  • Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, maximum 6 months
  • Start Dates: Project is ongoing, and you can join at any time, depending upon availability
  • Cost for the in-person placement: from $1,466 USD for the first 2 weeks + from $608 for each week thereafter
  • Cost for the online placement: from $1,081 USD for the first 2 weeks + from $415 for each week thereafter
  • Notes: This opportunity is designed to give you the contacts and experience to help further your career.   • Introduction: This project is with a surfing-inspired sustainable development NGO driving the development of poor Peruvian coastal communities through a path of sustainability.


About the program

We develop environmental, educational, infrastructure and socio-economic projects working with local communities and international interns in Lobitos, Peru. Multidisciplinary Academic Team members welcome interns to develop their own research projects as part of their application if aligned with our work and focus. Projects offer opportunities to conduct bachelors, masters or PhD research with us.



Responsibilities
  • Support ongoing social and scientific projects with the NGO.
  • Develop and carry out your own research project as part of your application if aligned with our work and focus.
  • Participate in educational seminars led by Directors on topics including international development, NGO management, marketing and outreach, and research techniques.
  • Contribute to project planning, implementation and evaluation to benefit local communities.
  • Live and work in a surfing paradise in northern Peru (for in-person placement).
