Overview

Healthcare Assistant - Gorey & Surrounding Areas

Care in the Community. Consistent Hours. Real Respect. We are hiring Healthcare Assistants in Gorey and nearby areas to support older people in their homes with practical care and meaningful connection. Youll work set hours with the same clients each week, giving you consistency, stability, and support to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one care in the clients home, including:
    • Personal care (washing, toileting, dressing)
    • Light meal preparation and basic household tasks
    • Friendly conversation and emotional support
    • Helping with mobility and routine activities

You will not be left to figure things out on your own—we provide full training and day-to-day support from a responsive local team.

Hours

Hours that work around you: flexible schedules with part-time and full-time options. Core hours to cover include:

  • Morning shifts: 8am–12 noon
  • Evening shifts: 4pm–8pm
  • Every second weekend

You will agree your shift pattern when you join and stick with it week to week.

What We Offer

We value your time, effort, and experience. We offer enhanced pay rates:

  • €13.50/hour – for those newly qualified in QQI Care Skills & Care of the Elderly
  • €14.00–€14.50/hour – with experience and the two required QQI modules
  • €15.00/hour – with full QQI Level 5 (all 8 modules) and relevant experience

Plus:

  • Paid mileage
  • 10 hours of paid training
  • A supportive team that checks in regularly
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
Training and Qualifications

Not qualified yet? If you have experience (such as caring for a loved one) but no formal training, we offer heavily subsidised QQI courses in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly. Training must be completed before starting, and we will guide you through it.
