About the Role
As we continue to expand to provide additional services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently have opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division at our homes in Corlea and Kilshrewley, Co. Longford, for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We welcome you to join our team to help provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including those with life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by psychologists, behavioural therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, providing dedicated support to the people we care for, and contributing to their development, health, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:- A qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant area (e.g., Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community)
- Full manual driving license with eligibility to drive in Ireland
- Full eligibility and availability to work with us
- At least one year's recent experience in the social services sector
- Support the day-to-day running of the service and deliver a person-centred approach to support and care
- Ensure personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards
- Proactively support individuals in their daily lives and choices
- Engage with families, clinicians, and build community links
- Implement positive support programmes
- Promote independence and community integration
- Stay updated on social care policies and sectoral changes
- Motivate and encourage individuals to engage in activities of their choice
- Lead key working in consultation with the individuals supported
- Support personal care and daily needs
- Work as part of a team, support colleagues, attend meetings, and engage in supervisions
- Perform health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report accordingly
- Manage medication in accordance with policies
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, families, and relevant parties
- Work flexible shifts, including day and night shifts
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role
