Clinical Nurse Specialist, Children's Palliative Care – Maternity Leave Cover (Dublin)

The CNSp practice will include a major clinical focus, which comprises assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care given to children and their families. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, he/she will work collaboratively with other members of the team to provide the highest standard of specialist palliative nursing care to children with life-limiting conditions/palliative care needs. He/she will participate in children's palliative care research and audit and act as a consultant in education and clinical practice to nursing colleagues and the wider interdisciplinary team. He/she will facilitate and support teams to implement evidence-based practice and will contribute to the continuing development of Children's Palliative care in Lauralynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice.

Essential Criteria - ideally the successful candidate will possess the following:

  1. Hold current Registration in the Children's Division of the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  2. Have acquired a post-registration level 9 qualification on the National Qualifications Framework of Ireland (major award) or the equivalent, in Palliative Care
  3. Have a minimum of 1 year post-registration experience and a minimum of 1 year specialist area experience of working with children with life-limiting conditions/palliative care needs

Please note that whilst this position is not publicly funded, the salary is linked to the national pay scales.
