About the post:

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HR Generalist to join a high-performing HR Partnering team within a fast-paced, dynamic university environment. This role is going to work alongside and be a member of the HR Partner team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting RCSI's HR Partners supporting the daily operations of this team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the HR Partner team in service of RCSI's employees and line managers. In addition to working closely with the HR Partner team, the role-holder will work closely and collaborate with each of the HR centres of expertise (Management Information, Learning and Development, Organisation change, Recruitment and Operations).
  • Support annual employee development processes in partnership with HR Partners e.g. Academic and Honorary Promotions, Professional Development Planning (PDP), Policy Reviews.
  • Professional Development Planning (PDP): Responsible for addressing employee system-related issues, monitoring completion rates for objective setting and end year reviews, updating and maintaining the system, and providing updates to the broader HR Partner team and the HR Director.
  • Supporting planning for and participate in recruitment campaigns as required across the university in partnership with HR Partners, managers and the recruitment teams.
  • Support HR's EDI agenda, representing HR on EDI for and supporting the coordination HR commitments as laid out in departmental and intuitional plans relating to gender equality (Athena Swan), Race Equality and Ending Sexual Violence and promoting consent (ESP) Race Equality, VisABILITY Forum, action plans.
  • As required, support the completion of internal processes and documentation relevant to all aspects of the employee lifecycle, in partnership with the HR Operations team e.g. new contract requests, salary amendments etc.
  • Support employee relations work including participating in cases and HR investigations as required
  • As required, act as a point of contact for employees on people related issues as they emerge working with HR Partners.
  • Support existing and emerging HR Projects in partnership with HR Partners and wider HR Team.
  • Lead the Management Accountability Project by collecting data and presenting a comprehensive analysis to HR Partners and the HR Director.
  • Perform such other duties as required from time to time to support the HR function and the university's broader strategic goals.
  • Representing the best interests of the Department and RCSI at all times
  • Undergoing programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.

Knowledge & Experience – (Essential):

  • Level 8 degree (essential), bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferable)
  • Proven experience in an HR role with a strong track record of success.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of Irish employment laws and HR best practices
  • Exceptional proficiency with the MS Office suite; familiarity with HRIS systems is a bonus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience handling people-related issues effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
