:Essential Responsibilities: Develop and drive the technical vision and strategy for complex projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long-term goals.Architect and implement high-performance, scalable, and resilient systems to support enterprise-level applications and services.Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers across teams, fostering technical growth and promoting best practices.Partner with product managers, operations, and other engineering leaders to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.Lead efforts to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve critical system issues, ensuring reliability and performance.Research and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to advance the organization's technical capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.Advocate for and enforce coding best practices, design patterns, and technical standards across engineering teams.Facilitate architecture reviews, code reviews, and design discussions to ensure technical excellence and alignment with organizational standards.Identify and implement improvements in development workflows, automation, and system monitoring to enhance efficiency and reliability.Serve as a technical authority in internal and external forums, contributing to the organization's reputation for engineering excellence.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Preferred Qualification:Preferred Qualification:5+ years of experience in network design and implementation5+ years of experience supporting networks at an L3 levelExpert level multi-vendor experience with routing and switching equipment from Cisco, Juniper, AristaExpert level wireless experience, preferably Aruba networks based implementationsExpert level VoIP implementation and operations experience on cisco based networksExpert level understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6Expert level BGP and OSPFProficiency in modern development languages such as Python, C++Experience developing tools to drive efficiency in operations tasks and automationExpert level troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of Multicast technologies such as PIM and PIM-BIDIRExperience with QoS and implementation strategies on both Wired and WirelessExperience with of wireless technologies such as 802.11a/b/g/n/acExperience with Aruba Airwave Management PlatformExperience optimizing and operating wireless systems and RF environmentsExperience with L2 technologies such as MLAG and VPCFunctional knowledge of and comfort working in *nix environmentsExcellent communication and documentation skillsRelevant expert level certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, etc) preferredParticipation in on call rotationRelevant expert level certifications (CCIE, JNCIE, etc) preferredBSCS or other 4-year technical degree preferredSubsidiary:PayPalTravel Percent:0PayPal does not charge candidates any fees for courses, applications, resume reviews, interviews, background checks, or onboarding.
