Overview

Maintenance Task Force Leader (GTS) at CRH. CRH is recognized as an industry leader in producing high-quality cement, adopting sustainable practices and reducing the environmental impact of the cement production process. The Task Force Leader will guide regional task forces across six geographic clusters, covering topics such as Energy, Kiln Economy, Alternative Fuels & Alternative Raw Materials, Maintenance, and Quality. This role reports to the GTS Engineering Manager and involves coordinating with task force chairs and regional teams to share learnings and drive best-practice operations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Lead the CRH Task Force group to achieve world-class performance levels in all cement plants.
  • Promote and facilitate knowledge transfer among the Task Force community in CRH.
  • Implement CRH policies and attend Task Force meetings to provide expert assistance.
  • Advise, support and challenge plant teams; participate in CRH Technical Management Team initiatives.
  • Assist cluster task forces in attaining best practice and develop expert support solutions.
  • Develop and implement measurement systems for best practice; report on road map development and management.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Group's global cement operations.
  • Build a network of peer contacts across the group.
  • Work with and develop contacts with outside experts for cement manufacturing.
Key Stakeholders
  • CRH GTS Process Director / Engineering Manager
  • CRH Cement Plant Production / Engineering / Quality Managers
  • Ability to build and manage a diffuse team and to engage internal and external customers
  • Autonomy in driving performance and challenging the operation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; managerial courage and constructive feedback
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to manage processes and deadlines
  • Political savvy and ability to influence multiple stakeholders globally
  • High drive, resilience, initiative, organization, attention to detail, and results orientation
Key Functional Competencies
  • Ideally an Engineering degree with at least 10 years of experience in the cement industry
  • Strong understanding of cement maintenance practices and maintenance systems
  • Expert knowledge of cement and clarity on best practices in cement/concrete production
  • Awareness of current and future challenges in the cement sector
  • Experience advising senior management and managing operational teams; cross-cultural experience is a plus
