Credit Controller

Location: Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow

Type: Permanent

Salary: €40,000 - €45,000

Work Arrangement: Fully Office Based

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller for a permanent position. Candidates should have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role and possess a good working knowledge of Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Target cash-flow collections for the month and plan to achieve targets.
  2. Liaise with and monitor the sales team's cash collection process daily and weekly.
  3. Support the sales team in reconciling accounts, resolving queries, and debtor collection.
  4. Review and monitor credit terms for new and existing accounts.
  5. Maintain accurate records within the Herbst CRM module.
  6. Manage customer accounts within agreed trading terms.
  7. Oversee debt collection from initial contact to legal proceedings and completion.
  8. Identify and resolve credit control issues proactively, escalating to the manager when necessary.
  9. Allocate receipts daily to customer accounts and resolve unallocated queries.
  10. Ensure all delivery dockets are invoiced daily.
  11. Participate in month-end close processes and dispatch customer statements timely.
  12. Provide weekly and monthly performance reports.
  13. Improve debtor collection processes and reporting.
  14. Achieve credit control team KPIs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Ensure all credit notes are approved before processing.
  16. Support the transition to a paperless credit control department.
  17. Report to the Credit Control Manager and collaborate closely with the sales and finance teams.

Key Skills:

  • At least three years' experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Experience in process improvement, automation, and system implementation.
  • Participation in projects to improve credit control processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
