Yuno Energy entered the Irish market in late 2023 as a disruptive new supplier of residential electricity.

With an ambitious mission to help Irish consumers save energy and money through a data-driven, app-based offering, Yuno Energy is revolutionising how people interact with their energy.

We are growing strongly and expanding into other market areas in Ireland and are expanding our pricing, hedging, and trading capabilities to accommodate this and future growth.

Our ideal candidate must be highly analytical, technically skilled, and have energy industry experience in areas such as demand forecasting, Grid, or Market modelling. Knowledge of data analysis methods and proficiency in programming languages such as python are essential. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who can clearly explain complex information to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain models of household energy demand
• Research how household energy demand will change over time due to customers adopting new technologies and retrofitting
• Assist the manager with short-term and long-term demand forecasting.
• Assist the demand forecasting manager in identifying, building, and maintaining required data structures which will help enable efficiencies through automation of work.
• Be responsible for demand data integrity and be able to immediately identify missing data.
• Identify ways in which existing tools can be automated or optimised.
• Build new excel tools, dashboards, and Power BI reports as required by the forward trading team.
• Be part of the trading rota which involves buying electricity and gas from the Day-Ahead markets.
• The role will require a limited amount of out of hours support.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 3+ years professional or academic experience in the Energy sector, data engineering, or other quantitative field.
• Strong data handling and programming skills are essential, particularly in python and excel; additional experience in SQL would be preferred.
• The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who can break down complex information and explain it to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent problem solving / creativity skills with an ability to make sense of large amounts of data, from both the top down and bottom up.
• Knowledge of Wholesale electricity markets and an understanding of the ISEM would be an advantage.
• Should continually challenge own and others work.
• Strong attention to detail and the candidate should be able to deliver a high quality of information to a varied audience.
• Ability to communicate in a structured, clear, and concise manner especially with management.
• The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to influence and gain buy-in from peers and management.
• Ability to follow, map and improve processes.
• Strong team worker with ability to work on own as well under direction from management.
• Ability to adapt to varying goals and changes in priority .
