Glenisk is looking for a motivated and dynamic Quality & Technical Manager to lead our Quality and Technical department. This pivotal role ensures our products consistently meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance with BRC and customer requirements.

Based at the Glenisk Innovation Centre, the role reports directly to the Managing Director and works closely with the Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain Glenisk's Quality Management System, including HACCP, BRC, and customer standards
  • Oversee staff training, internal audits, plant inspections, and compliance reporting
  • Manage product quality, food safety, and customer specifications
  • Approve label copy and artwork to ensure food law compliance
  • Handle customer complaints, identify trends, and implement corrective actions
  • Lead R&D for Glenisk and customer brands
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage audits and inspections
  • Monitor plant and product performance, reporting trends to the Operations Director
  • Manage environmental testing and compliance
  • Support and contribute to Health & Safety initiatives
  • Supervise lab operations and provide technical support to the production team
  • Stay up to date with food safety legislation and update QMS accordingly

Requirements

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a similar food manufacturing quality/technical role
  • Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and food legislation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
