Marketing Director – Red Bull

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marketing Director is responsible for the overall Red Bull business strategy in Ireland and delivering the annual Red Bull business plan. They focus on turning brand lovers into can lovers, ensuring that Red Bull is the consumer's first choice of energy drink. They understand the local consumer, take full ownership of the business strategy and values, and develop the country marketing plan. They set short and mid-term objectives to achieve an aspirational and relevant brand image among all relevant consumer groups particularly Gen Z, increase product understanding and trust, and overall brand value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND BRAND PRIORITIES

· Ensures that the overall business plan addresses the challenges to win new consumers and confirm existing ones.

· Grows audience engagement (more consumers coming more often and staying longer) of the Red Bull Media Network. This involves quality content and program creation as well as content commercialization; the introduction and operation of own media channels, products and services as well as intensified media relations to optimize content distribution in TV, digital, radio, print and mobile.

· Generates consumer and audience insights with the Brand Team to win new consumers and grow audiences, shapes the marketing strategy and plan, steers the right product and packaging portfolio as well as consumer pricing decisions and shapes consumer and audience marketing and trade investments.

· Leads an effective and efficient, well-targeted student marketeer programme to grow product distribution at universities and establishing the World of Red Bull on campus, thereby growing brand and can love among university students. Ensures that all student marketeers engage in sales drives and sales support, and the Student Marketing teams drive trial among new and infrequent users, across all relevant consumption occasions and to increase product understanding and trust with consumers.

· Builds and leads a strong sports programme that builds on the relevant sports and athlete scene and helps build a relevant and appealing local brand image while staying in line with the global sports strategy.

· Guides the culture team in establishing a credible culture programme that positions the brand as an authentic player in relevant scenes.

· Always ensures the product is at the heart of marketing efforts by facilitating collaboration and effective ways of working between marketing and On and Off premise teams.

· Further develops the Creator Marketing approach, linking the right people and opinion leaders with the Red Bull brand and products.

· Sets out the long-term Strategy on how to grow the brand on a multi-year basis.

MARKETING INNOVATION

· Establishes Red Bull as a role model amongst leading brands, that appeal to Gen Z, recognised for innovation and creativity.

· Acts as an entrepreneur, spearheads and fosters creation and innovation, and ensures Red Bull seizes all relevant opportunities to strengthen the brand, the can and media business while preserving its global equity.

· Leads the creation and execution of appealing and consumer relevant sport events, defending our leading role in action sports and in motorsports whilst tapping into highly relevant local sports.

· Drives a top athlete-performance programme as a top innovator in sports marketing globally and ensures 360-degree plans around leading athletes, including e-sports.

· Drives innovation in the field of culture, strengthens Red Bull culture properties and makes Red Bull a key player in all important music and dance scenes.

· Manages and collaborates with the Brand team to build an advertising plan in line with global strategy that addresses specific issues and opportunities with the right messages that drive top-of-mind awareness, brand image and grow audiences.

· Generates innovative consumer activations to expand reach and engage the young consumer, particularly through social media.

· Ensures that every consumer experience with the brand is a positive one thanks to love for the detail and premium execution at events and all other marketing activities.

· Thinks digital first in all we do to increase consumer engagement with the brand, to start and maintain consumer dialogue particularly in social media.

· Fosters a strong opinion-leader and creator network not only in culture and entertainment but in all relevant Red Bull playgrounds to drive brand image and visibility with credible can in hand.

· Demonstrates cost efficiency and excellent budget management to deliver the profit commitment.

ORGANISATIONAL CAPABILITIES AND ENABLING STRUCTURE

· Lives, nurtures and protects the unique Red Bull culture.

· Responsible for building a motivated, well-led, productive, innovative and high performing marketing team by sourcing, hiring, training and coaching the team based on a thorough understanding of strengths and development needs.

· Builds the annual objectives for the marketing team and conducts on-going performance evaluations.

· Fosters collaboration across departments in Ireland, and with the global HQ to drive a 360-degree approach with relevant initiatives to increase impact and efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Minimum 10 years of working in similar marketing roles preferably within FMCG.

2. A creative mind with a track record of creating new ideas, putting them into practice and assessing results.

3. A strategic leader who takes initiative and ownership.

4. Ability to cultivate, lead and motivate a high performing team with the proven ability to build and develop talent.

5. Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen.

6. Excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills.

Employment for the successful applicant will be with Richmond Marketing who operate as the Distribution Partner for Red Bull in Ireland
