We are seeking to appoint a Shift Technician to provide support to the Shift Supervisor with technical issues on shift:

The Role

  • To work with the Shift Supervisors to start and stop machines and troubleshoot day-to-day processing problems to maximize machine up time;
  • Execution of other relevant technical tasks on-shift to maintain production at optimal performance;
  • Carry out regular services on machines;
  • Provide cover for the Shift Supervisor where appropriate and required;
  • Participate in continuous improvement or new product introduction projects
  • To maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure area, machines and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean conditions;
  • Ensure compliance with Quality and GMP requirements and adherence to all MGS Mfg. Group policies and procedures.
  • Perform orientations and oversee training for new employees.
  • Communication effectively with all departments.

The Person
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work on a four-cycle shift basis, to include nights and weekends.
  • The individual will have knowledge of the mechanical and electronic systems associated with high volume manufacturing; hold a relevant qualification in one of those disciplines and/or have additional specialised training and industrial experience.
  • The individual will have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Requirements
  • Degree in related field
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good understanding and ability to perform taks and create documents using MS Word, Excel, PP and Outlook
  • Previous experience in similar position
