Wind Turbine Service Technician

Overview

Wind Turbine Service Technician - Yellow River role at Nordex Group is a permanent position to join the team across the Yellow River windfarm in County Offaly.

The role focuses on servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines for Nordex Energy Ireland. You will perform general and specialized work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities with the goal of achieving a high level of turbine availability.

What you will be doing

• On-site performance analysis and action plan implementation
• Collaborate with Technicians and Back Office staff to perform on-the-job demonstrations
• Support on-site single-turbine improvements on problem turbines
• Provide on-site software and hardware updates
• Offer online and phone technical support
• Create reports on turbines or turbine components
• Handle parameter disabling and alarm changes when necessary

Core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm). Overtime may be required to fix turbine issues, and you may be on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend depending on team size. Overtime is paid at time and a half with additional weekend on-call pay.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in Mechanical or Electrical industries with knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams
• Mechanical or Electrical training through time-served or technical college qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Ability to identify and define problems, extract information from technical data, and develop workable solutions
• Willingness to learn, lead, and continuously improve in a dynamic environment
• Computer literacy with MS Office; experience with SAP is a plus
• Comfort with working at heights (up to 100m) and ability to pass a height-working test
• Regular travel including nights away from home; full UK/EU driving licence required
